Yup, tons of educational garbage online. FreeCodeCamp is a big offender. 12 year olds teaching syntax. These places exist for a reason their job is to sell the illusion of knowledge.
The main freecodecamp course is decently high quality but the youtube videos are basically affiliate junior developers (if that) it's clear that no one is checking the quality of the videos. At least that's how it looks. Over the last 3-4 years the FCC youtube channel has had a huge drop in quality by just being a platform they let anyone post to.
