No, it's not a stretch. They define rules in their Community Guidelines, which seem reasonable and user-friendly. But then they all at once terminate a fair bunch of accounts that had existed for 10 years, contained thousands of videos, and always strictly followed their Community Guidelines with no explanation. How is that called?

Well, it just shows what monster the service and the monopoly behind that started with a "Don't be evil" policy has become over the years.
