Looking more and more like the war isn't going to be over until the end of this year. Ukraine needs to wait until they get the tanks/promised equipment, for which AFAIK the delivery dates are in the 2nd half of the year, and Russia seems to be quite happy doing whatever it is they are doing right now.
Biggest question is whether there will be any further sanctions escalation, doesn't look like anything new will happen beyond the diesel price ceiling.
He is paying the bills so he does have a big say in when it ends.
Wars always run only as long as someone pays the bills. He can pull the rug anytime just as he did in Afghanistan, but the fact that he hasn't, indicates they still see Ukraine in the fight.
