Is Twitter down / read-only for everyone else?

I keep getting "You are over the daily limit for sending Tweets" when I try to tweet.

You can schedule Tweets 1 minute into the future.

Bad timing given the Nintendo Direct.

EDIT: Tweeting works normally now

That’s brilliant. Is there a way to use this trick to post a reply? It doesn’t seem like replies can be scheduled.

(Lol. I was just musing today that it's scary that Twitter is still operational minus 90% of its workforce. But I guess operational is relative when this kind of thing happens now vs never in the history of Twitter. Or at least not in the last 4 years, which is the period I've been active in.)

Apparently when they restricted the API, they didn't realize it's used by all the clients, including their official ones (and the web interface too).

Wonder when happened to the engineers who knew how the service worked inside and out?

Oh wait...

it's actually scary that it took that much to fail with elon at the helm

I am getting the message "You are over the daily limit for sending Tweets".

I have not tweeted anything in the last 24h.

Most of the time when I like something the heart animates in, and then (ostensibly when the network fetch round-trips) it animates back out and the count goes back to where it started. My tweets also average a solid 7-13 views, so when I was getting 429s back after not posting within 24 hours, I figured the shadow ban was just getting more transparent.

Whether it is or isn't, twitter definitely feels like it's dying from my perspective. My account was created sometime in 2008-2009.
