There were a number of local newspapers about it, but NO national news. Bet no-one outside Oshawa Ontario heard about the event.
Why is a drunk in a Tesla more important to report than a drunk in a GM truck?

You make an interesting point, perhaps the make and model of the vehicle should be more prominent or never prominent. The first would villainize the manufacturer and model (which seems irrelevant), the latter would direct uncreased focus on the human behind the wheel. The vehicle type are a huge distraction from what is often an underlying tragedy.

It absolutely isn't, wider reporting of incidents would help raise awareness which would likely have a positive effect in that it'd let people know how widespread a problem it is which could lead to some amount of better decisions. This sounds a lot better than doing nothing or generating more garbage Musk articles.
