YC Founder Looking for New Home

When I announced that I was shutting down my company, 70 Million Jobs/Commissary Club, I received enormous support from the Hacker News & YC communities. (The pandemic decimated my business helping the formally incarcerated land jobs and find community.) It was just what I needed at the time.

Since then, I’ve worked as a consultant to several nonprofits. But I very much miss being on the team of one special company.

What do I bring to the table? I think it’s fair to say that my profile is unusual for a tech person, much less a YC founder. My technology chops are woefully limited. I’m certainly one of the oldest founders to go through YC. And I have a criminal record. (I built a huge financial services firm years ago, got greedy and lost everything, including my freedom, circa 1995.)

What, then do I bring to the table? • A very mature, strategic mind. • A track record of success. • Great at sales of all kinds. • Great at partnerships/bizdev • Very good at marketing. • Passion for social impact. • Great at recruiting and evangelizing. • Good at fund-raising. • Unrelenting loyalty and dedication. • I approach every opportunity as if I am the founder.
