Ask HN: Any SEs on AS that made a successful switch to a leadership role?

Just curious if there are anyone on the Autism spectrum here that were Software Engineers at some point in the past but now are on leadership/management roles and managing ok! I'm at my wits end as I'm looking for opportunities to grow but none that I can keep hands-on technical.

I'm currently a Senior Engineer with an Asperger's diagnosis, and in the past I had a couple of opportunities where I was a team lead/tech lead but had found it really challenging and came to an embarrassing conclusion (e.g. not all at once: failed/late projects, people leaving the team, friction with my manager...etc). I'm given another opportunity to move to a team lead role in my current job but I'm not sure if I should take it on! Worried I may end up messing it up as I'm not really a social person.

Anyone had similar issues and can provide some tips/suggestions?
