I did a small experiment using hastags and caption on one of the social media. I knew it would work, but still was surprised how hastags and captions are important if you are trying to reach audience on social media. I wrote about it here: https://www.atbrakhi.dev/blog/caption-generator-ai
I won't do that. I have learned my lesson hard way. I have had people cloning my repo and claiming publicly it's their projects.
Recently also happened with this open source project `https://www.restorephotos.io/`, someone cloned it and deployed it on another domain with ads. It went quite public as well with marketing etc.
My initial motivation behind putting paywall at some point is to just cover the cost of the tool :)
About the api keys, I was more thinking of people outside of tech world. But I will explore your point on BYO API KEYS.

If that’s the motivation to charge, rather than to make money yourself, then why not permit BYO API keys like other services? Or just open source it?
