First time posting, I've built a macOS menubar tool to better monitor OpenAI API usage / cost.
The idea came after racking up a $5 bill in a matter of minutes while running my Oura ring data through GPT-4 (with 6k+ tokens). So I set out to have a glance-able way of tracking and knowing my account spending, for personal usage for tools (dev / playground / apps you add your key to) but also production apps, for monitoring spikes / API abuse or attacks.
The app is built natively with SwiftUI, took a couple of hours to put together and released same day on Gumroad.
I've linked to Gumroad, it is pay what you want, set $0 to get it for free – rather people use it than pay for it, but ideally both!

I've since put it in the macOS app store for the more security conscious (aka approved by Apple) at a price of £5 with the hopes that using the tool should save you that in the long run: https://apps.apple.com/gb/app/peek-ai-api-monitoring/id64476...
Appreciate your feedback!
