The new sync is needed. Evernote is one of those rare programs in which the desktop apps work better than the mobile apps. Both on Windows and macOS the sync works very fast but on my iPhone I can literally wait 5 minutes and it does not sync a new note. And then I pull down on the notes screens to force a manual refresh and then something happens. Sometimes I make a quick note on my iphone before going to bed and the next morning it is still not synced to my desktop devices. As if Evernote on iOS goes to sleep the moment the phone goes to the lock screen.But through all these years I still stay with Evernote. I've tried many other programs and Evernote still wins for fast notetaking, saving html pages, or saving screenshots, and do this on all devices (Apple/Android/Windows).
Apple Notes would come real close if they had a Windows apps. If Apple could spend some time improving the icloud website then maybe that could be a web alternative for a native app on Windows.
