Not a big fan of the guy but he’s correct that 90% of what journalists write these days is entirely fabricated or at least woefully misrepresented. A friend of mine who works at [large digital media outlet] told me recently of the discussions of hiring striking film writers as they are more adept at creating reality as opposed to reporting on it. Sadly this is the job now. Mere facts cannot compete and those writing them will be bankrupted by their lack of imagination.Journalism most closely resembles advertising now. Your job is to figure out what people want to hear and deliver that regardless of whether its true (rarely it is). Obviously there’s demand for the downfall of Pharma bro. You have to tell the people the stories they want to hear.
