The Brave Search API is the backbone of our independent search engine, and we're excited to provide a competitive alternative to Big Tech. We hope to serve customers ranging from independent developers to large companies.
Brave Search recently became 100% independent for Web search (https://brave.com/search-independence/), removing any remnant calls to Microsoft Bing in order to rely fully on our own index.
Our search index is updated with millions of new pages from the Web every day. Search results are of high quality, surfaced from a clean and independent index. The Web Discovery Project (https://support.brave.com/hc/en-us/articles/4409406835469-Wh...) helps ensure real data is being added, not dead links, SEO spam or other content.
The Brave Search API offers plans for projects of all sizes. Developers making less than 2,000 queries per month can use the API for free. We've broken down subscriptions into 3 categories:
* Data for search - for traditional search-related use cases
* Data for AI - for training AI models for inference
* Data with storage rights - for caching or storing data to train AI Models
All subscriptions include access to Web search, video cluster, news cluster, Goggles, autocomplete and spellcheck. Pro-level subscriptions will also include extra Web or AI snippets, schema-enriched Web results, Discussions and more.
