I am no longer in tech, but I do have quite a few friends that are, along with members of HR that are in charge of hiring for tech rolls. From what I've been told, the amount of applicants that even an entry level position gets is far to great for any one or handful of people to sort through with any efficiency. They are heavily utilizing software to help pick the best. What I would suggest is to start taking the extra time to optimize your resume for every job you apply for. There are tools online to help you find out how these softwares scan and pick out pieces of your resume.
Best of luck :)

Is there one tool to rule them all, or a host for each specialty?
