Why do I need to pay for a service created out of data collection mechanisms which I do not consent of?

From my point of view those data brokers should be known and its APIs publicly accessible, or am I too naive or missing some points here?

It feels to me that someone created me a problem and now is asking me money for solving it.

Any ideas on this matter?
