But yeah I'm amazed that such a glowing article came out about hachyderm. To be fair, they serve their userbase well. And I think that's where the federverse wins. You have instances that exist on the far extremes of both political sides of the spectrum. Then you have instances that are mostly apolitical and focus on technology or photography etc.

If the hachyderm incident has taught me anything, I refuse to attach myself to any system where I have no method of recourse if someone files a false complaint against me, where I cannot be told anything about the complaint or face my accusers, and where my continued existence is entirely at the whim of the admin.
If I ever do anything further with the Fediverse, I think it's going to be exclusively on my own system. That way, if I say or do something to get de-federated, at least I've got some hope of a proper hearing.
