Am I in the wrong to be pissed at EU that they won't let me use Bard and now Threads? I get that whole regulations horseshit[0], but damn - is every interesting product launch in the future is going to be locked behind a 6-month entry wall or something? It's honestly demoralizing as someone who spends a lot of time on the web and also writes about various tech topics.
I do wonder why threads wasn't just included in the Instagram app.
Part of the reason why Instagram reels have become so popular is probably because it's right there in the middle of the Instagram app.
I could see if it's to avoid bloating 1 app but from the messaging it seems that your threads identity is going to be closely linked to your Instagram account anyway?
I feel less motivated to install a new app, create a new profile, decorate it and start following people (once again).

May be because they are trying to create a separate identity and attract twitter crowd which may or may not like IG much. No one likes IG much these days tbh. Just using IG to logging in is an entirely different matter, people are used to logging in using different service providers like google, facebook etc.
Well, I can see the thread in my browser. Since that was all I ever did with Twitter it is as of today 100% better (though I suppose strictly speaking 1 is infinitely bigger than zero).
