It's really ingenious to invent these avatars and make sure everyone has one and associate it with personality, fortune and romantic interests.

It sparks discussion, and gives people something to talk about right off the bat.

I have dated many girls who asked for my starsign (even that name! Marketing) and generally it's always just a fun conversation.

I've never had anyone suggest something ill or enacted violence due to astrology.

Of course I make sure to state that I don't really believe in it - but it's really harmless as far as I can see.
