I think this article is simply wrong about the "most expensive" part.

That only works out to 6k or 7k pounds sterling per bottle. Meanwhile:

> Jamaican distiller J. Wray & Nephew is also recognised for producing one of the world’s most expensive rums, a 17-year-old expression priced in the region of £40,000 (US$52,000) and used to create the first Mai Tai cocktail in the 1940s.
