The original title is more click-baity: "A $5 Investment That Will Help You Make Great Decisions"

I never used a decision journal before. Has anyone experienced an improvement in decision making after using a decision journal? Conversely, has anyone tried a decision journal, but felt it was a waste of time with no improvement to the quality of the decisions? How do you measure that quality?

A written record of the decision-making process is also a potential solution to the problem of the human tendency to generate post-hoc rationalisations when asked why a particular decision was made. This is valuable even if the decisions themselves are not of a higher quality.
