Extraordinary if true. The police better have a really cast-iron reason for doing so - it's somewhat hard to imagine what that would be, in the case of a former UK ambassador. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Craig_Murray

I know nothing about this guy, but in this tweet, its pretty clear why: https://twitter.com/CraigMurrayOrg/status/171333500612114051...

"If that is a crime, send me back to jail."

Well, yes, its been made pretty clear [1] that, this is indeed a crime in the UK. Now whether that is right or wrong, is for a million other people to argue about, but it is a crime.

And, in the replies, many were quick to tag police and cpsuk to let them know.

>Asked whether he condemned Londoners waving flags in support of Hamas, he added: “Waving the flag of Hamas is against the law. Hamas is proscribed and the police are making sure that they enforce the law.

The flag of Palestine ≠ the flag of Hamas.

Hamas is not the Palestinian people, and the Palestinian people are not Hamas.

>“There’s obviously a distinction with the right to freedom of protest and so forth, but nobody likes to see people scared as a consequence of the actions of others.”

Must be nice to be able to so easily bat away the rights and freedoms which underpin free societies.
