Show HN: Prototape – A multiplayer audio recorder for songwriting

Hey everyone,

I've built a multiplayer audio recorder/looper for songwriting in your browser. It started as a side project in March last year but 3 months ago I quit my job to work on it full-time.

I wanted the simplicity of a Portastudio and the utility of a loop station to serve as an easy way to get song ideas together without needing to send files back and forth, or get lost in the complexity of traditional DAWs up front - just record or upload your ideas and share the link with whoever you want to collaborate with.

Would love to hear what you think of it! Any feedback, thoughts, or suggestions for improvement is appreciated.

I the concept because I do believe that music is an underserved area which needs to see development. But this is a good start.

Thanks! I agree. The existing players trying to take this to the browser are all going for a full replacement of native DAWs rather than to augment/supplement them like what I'm going for. Musicians _love_ their DAWs so I don't think that's the right play, at least not for now.
