Ask HN: What is the best way to learn AI/Machine learning as a PM in 2023?

3 points| firesofmay | 2 years ago

Like the title says, I am looking to have a deeper understanding of how it works. I am not looking for quick article to just skim but actually understand it deeply.

Can you all please recommend ways to wrap my head around it. From the mathematics behind it, tech that goes behind it, foundatational knowledge etc.

I know there is a lot of knowledge out there, but it can be overwhelming to know where to start.

Open to books, courses, etc to learn from the ground up.

Thanks!

PS: I have a tech background but I haven't coded since 5 years now. I understand Python.

In which country you are a PM? Humor aside, I'd say something like Elements of Statistical Learning by Hastie et al. would be a decent enough start. Should be available online as OA.
