Anectodal, but my friend worked in a prison in illinois - he was forced to work 12 hour days, sometimes consecutively, while being constantly short staffed.

He ended up gaining about 30 pounds in about 6 months from the job, and could only get normal hours from a doctor telling them to stop working him to death.

Wonder how much longer people will put up with this before they simply sit out society, and quietly die. Better than dying exhausted, i suppose.
