Wondering if another species (lizards, cats) were climbing the intelligence ladder towards super intelligence, we would have declared that species as the biggest threat, bigger than climate change.

Cats could be super intelligent and just not care.

Curious how AI’s world-ending potential seem to become most dangerous and significant around valuation milestones.

This is a common view but I’m skeptical about it in this case. The whole board struggle seems like it blindsided everyone and was somewhat influenced by the breakthrough. I doubt that MS and OpenAI would want to cause that much case merely to get people talking about the new AI they’d developed, in that case they could’ve just gone out and said it.

I wonder how much it costs to get a techradar blog to write about it?
