There are tons of startups that were built on Python that became enormously valuable companies: Instagram, Dropbox, Reddit, Spotify, YouTube, Pinterest, Quora, SurveyMonkey, Twitch, Zenefits.

I don’t think the data supports your VC’s thesis.
