That's ridiculous. If the new 38.7k income threshold is an issue for the industry then perhaps they should start paying a decent salary.

Median salary in the UK is about 38k, by the way, the same as the new threshold, and a "punishing" amount according to the article. One would think that a tech industry "blighted by an acute talent pinch" (quote from article) would offer salaries above the national average instead of seeking to pay software devs below it as the author suggests in order to 'attract' them...
