Ask HN: How long has it taken for job markets to recover after stock markets do?

In previous tech boom/bust cycles how long has it taken between the two? Seems we must be getting close to the job market catching up.

Next thing that needs to happen I imagine is a major IPO of a tech startup, which will start the process of VC investing that leads to froth, which will generate demand for employees. Just not sure how long all that takes to trickle.

After 2007-2008, people were still talking about a “double-dip” recession until, what, 2011? The uneven recovery pretty much directly led to Trump.

I guess if you’re talking tech-only, go look at how long it took the Nasdaq to achieve new highs after 2001.

Markets don’t recover. They evolve.
