No job? No shame. Younger workers are opening up about unemployment

I see it a lot like the push for pay transparency we’ve seen in the last few decades. There’s a lot about the corporate world that is kept unnecessarily private, with a bit of shame attached to it. This means people can be set up to fail for a long time without any support. Just knowing there are other people in similar situations, with whom they can commiserate and share tips, is very helpful.

Weird take from WP. I would argue that they have the attractiveness advantage in spades which are making them bold.

I see no issue in this but to say that younger workers are opening up is a stretch.

Heck I think I could pitch having them as an agile consultant at the company I work at in no time flat.

Make it the norm for people to distrust all corporations and businesses then maybe the stigma will start to fade.

I dunno if I just got older and "wiser" or if corporation leadership just got worse.

It’s next to impossible to get a job via the front door - which most enter through

>> Others argued that posting the video, which has racked up over 2 million views, could hurt Pietsch’s career.

"Others" are right. She just funked her future job prospects for life. Also, is it even legal to record a private conversation with company stuff without their consent? When meetings get recorded in Teams or Zoom, I'm getting a notification explicitly stating I'm being recorded so I am aware of it and can withdraw my consent (by leaving) if I don't agree.

Also, what's the point making a scene? Once you're on the way out, you're out, there's nothing you can do about it. You're already tied to the pole, blindfolded and firing squad lined up in front of you. Nothing you can do at this point can save your life, you can go out with some dignity or struggle and scream, result is the same. The firing squad has no authority to revert the decision that lead to your execution, they're only carrying it.

You assume she WANTS to work for a shitty corporation. Now, she can work for herself, do volunteer work that can lead to MEANINGFUL employment, or just go out and live her life and see what she falls into. Fuck ALL major corporations. We all need to do our part to wipe these inhumane mosters from the earth. Don't buy from them. Don't work for them. And mock and bully everyone who does, as the traitors to humanity they are. And your entire firing squad analogy doesn't work here. She's not tired up waiting to die. She's free to do whatever.
