Yes. On my self hosted email I had a myriad of DISCARD rules in Postfix. I've done this in a company as well for the obvious repeat phishing and for outbound MDN's before Microsoft improved out of office auto-replies. On the commercially hosted email I have numerous rules that mark-read and move to Trash and that self empties weekly.
