I wish more people posted questions like this. Questioning yourself and your path (and importantly, the ethics of it all) is a vital survival skill to avoid losing yourself entirely to the capitalism game, where you start to listen more to your analytics software than your sensibilities and moral compass.

I don't know if your AI products are scummy or not, but the fact that you're asking this question makes me less worried about you than a lot of other folks out there furiously rushing to get their AI pre-crime hot dog detectors rushed out the door so they can get on the NASDAQ.
