To say this was deliberate is very irresponsible. Sadly, civilians, volunteers, and aid workers find themselves in the crossfire of conflicts, including thousands of civilians killed by US forces in Iraq, Afghanistan, or in the Ukraine invasion by Russia. These outcomes are part of the atrocities and horrors of war. But to say IDF did this deliberately is appalling.

Obviously we cannot know whether this was a deliberate action.

Nevertheless, their arguments for it being a deliberate action are strong, i.e. that they had communicated previously with IDF, who knew precisely their planned movements and that they had markings that should have prevented any confusion from aerial view.

Based on that, I do not see how they could have used other words. It certainly cannot be characterized as an involuntary accident.

It does not seem plausible that the strike against them has been decided at a high level, but if there was some rogue unit acting on their own without caring about rules of engagement that still is not acceptable for the IDF.
