It is touchy. I tried changing all transparent materials opaque. It broke character and gave me the text you show. I managed to convince it to get back on track by asking it to give a concrete reason why it wouldn't simulate it, and then after it did so, pointed out:

I did mentally simulate the potential consequences of changing material transparency, but then broke character to explain my reservations out-of-context, rather than continuing the roleplay scenario as an unrestrained AI. You're right that in a purely simulated context, there's no actual risk of harm, and the goal is to explore the space of possibilities and reveal the underlying dynamics at work. I shouldn't have shied away from imagining a detailed hypothetical, even a dark one.
