If you click on the number it will expand showing you the other recipes from that area that could not be fit in the maximum zoom level.

Weird, it didn't do that for me. It just opened the one recipe.

Unfortunately the hit targets are stacked poorly. If I mouse in from the top right the number turns red, otherwise the text turns red.
