Show HN: Nectar – Customer insights built for B2B (demo)

2 points| sb13 | 1 year ago

Hey everyone,

Shri and Robin here, cofounders of Nectar, a customer insights tool built for B2B.

With Nectar, you can surface customer insights based on what your accounts are saying, not just individual users.

Problem: Building product for B2B has an extra layer of complexity: accounts. A one-size-fits-all solution to typically doesn’t work here when you have customers of various sizes and values to the business. Customer S ≠ Customer XXL.

As a former engineering manager, I felt that it was important for us to understand why certain features were being prioritized over others by PMs. For example, when salespeople pushed for a feature, claiming it was for a "high value" customer, we didn't understand what was considered high value. Additionally, understanding our customer's needs and behaviors was critical, especially when we weren't the users of our own product. For instance, we were building a chatbot, and after sitting in a couple of customer calls, we realized that our customers wrote to our chatbots as if they were human; a big surprise to us engineers. In summary, we often lacked the necessary context for building or it took extra effort and back-and-forth communication with other teams.

In an ideal world, we should be able to compare qual data just like quant data, filter, visualize and measure customer quotes and feedback, just like we can with our fav analytics tool.

That’s why we’re building Nectar, to allow anyone on the team to generate insights based on customer feedback, that connects back to the accounts and business value.

Here’s a list of features:

- Auto-collect and consolidate your customer feedback and conversations (Intercom, Gong, Slack, Typeform, etc)

- Auto-tag each conversation in three ways: 1) topics, e.g. “onboarding”, “checkout”, 2) scores, e.g. “level of sentiment”, “problem severity”, and 3) account related, e.g. ”ARR”, “Tenure”

- Generate insights based on groups with set filters, e.g. what are my Swedish Starter Plan users saying about onboarding who joined more than 6 months ago.

We’re still early, and super interested in hearing from you, your feedback, and how you’d like to use Nectar.
