This just feels so money-lobbied to me by the US auto industry. Objectively, here we have a nation that is pushing for green energy by having their government subsidize it, something that every nation on Earth should be doing in order to collectively meet climate goals. This is a net positive for the whole world. We should be moving more toward green energy than not, and if this accelerates it, then all the better?I understand if people are concerned whether the cars are up to standard, built well, have good reparability and convenient repair garages. But this doesn't seem to factor in here, just that profits are hurt for US car companies because they have been outcompeted.
