Show HN: I made an AI-powered weight loss challenge that pays you cash

Hi HN,

I’m Nil.

Ever since I started working on startups, my weight has been hard to control. The wake-up call came when my doctor warned me about the risk of permanent high blood pressure due to obesity.

This motivated me to create YesCoach AI, an AI-powered weight loss coach.

After reading several research papers on virtual weight loss services, I found that financial incentives, daily weigh-ins, and regular encouragement significantly boost weight loss success.

So, I combined AI and a weight loss challenge to create the current version of yescoach.ai.

How YesCoach Works: Sign Up and Onboard: Join the challenge by completing the onboarding process. Daily Check-ins: Respond with your daily weight check-in every day during the challenge period (allowing 3 misses for the 3-month challenge, and 6 misses for the 6-month challenge). Achieve Your Goal: Keep your weight below the goal amount by the end of the challenge and submit your final weigh-in to win the reward!

Since this is a soft launch, if you find a bug and report it to support email or my Twitter (@_nilni), you will get 1 extra miss allowed for your challenge (after verification, maximum of 3 per user).

I’d love to hear your feedback and suggestions. Thanks for checking out yescoach.ai!

So this is something that you check in with every day and get a positive statement from? Does it actually help in weight loss by looking at exercise or meal planning? Reading through the site, it sounds like I tell a robot how much I weigh each day and it encourages me to keep trying.

yea, thats the basic feature and in addition, if you successfully loss 10% of your weight, I will send you 30 dollar or more if you do 6 month.

I built this as an external discipline coach to encourage people to loss weight(that was the reason why my weight loss failed)

On exercise or meal planning: currently you can talk to the AI about exercise or meal planning (it is gpt4o in the back), but currently I don't save exercise and meal planning detail so it won't be able to remember that many details if you want it to remember your execise detail for 3 month.... but thats a feature I can add.

to the point above: let me know if you want it, I will add that as a feature if you are interested to try it out :)
