Show HN: I made a site that turns your favorite books into flashcards

When I read books, I don't remember much of the content. Now, I started to repeat books by generating flashcards.

Any ideas how I can make it more useful?

Nice app. Some ideas to make it more useful: - Make it generate a small quiz to check if someone has read a book (could be used by teachers in the school) - Generate pictures to boos memorisation - Along with cards, you can generate top 10 ideas of the book - If it were an app, I'd love to have a way to leave some cards for later to repeat and mark some as "known" Hope it was helpful :)

Thanks for the feedback. I really like your ideas! How do you imagine the generated images? I was thinking about adding authentications in order for you to pick up your learning where you left of before.

Love it, great job! I think it would be great to include more key insights as well, perhaps offering both short and long versions of the responses. Also, it would be beneficial to add some of my own thoughts/comments.

Tried out 'Game of thrones' and it was gooood! What happens if the LLM does not know a book?

Happy to hear!! I noticed that gpt-4o or Claude basically know every book good enough but it def has a problem with newer books...

cool idea, i've looked for tools like this.

i'd love to import my own notes or something like that, to also capture the thoughts i had while reading

thats a cool idea - probably it would need to be a mobile app, wouldn't it?
