i have quite a long experience in devops myself. that's why for my personal simple services i want to have a platform that needs no maintenance from my side.

a good extension cord can serve ten years with no modifications/updates. a good radio receiver can work for ten years with no modifications/updates. a good power adapter can work ten years with no modifications/updates. good simple software should work ten years with no modifications/updates.
