That sounds like a lot of inconvenience just to save $10 a month, and no easy way to make "sounds like" playlists out of them. It's hard to find CD drives in cars and computers anymore too. In fact I don't even know where to get CDs anymore either. Do they still sell them in stores?
I can get buying digital albums if owning is your thing, but why physical media? It takes so much time to rip and copy them across devices.
Spotify isn't even able to keep track of it's media session for the player notification on my lineage device. The notification stays there, but doesn't update and quick controls like play/pause doesn't work but sound plays. It's fixed only by rebooting. It's been the case for several versions now and other apps like NewPipe doesn't have any issue. Ironic coming from an app whose sole purpose is to play music.
Am I the only one who has good experience with Spotify? It constantly offers me new music, artists with few thousands followers that are interesting and relevant. The UI is a mess, I agree, but every single one web based UI is a mess. That's the trend.

Are they though? Is it not in spotify's best interests to stuff your discover weekly with cheap(to them) music?
I have been holding on to spotify and each monday I have been saving my DW playlists (120+ weeks and counting), but lately it has been filled with cover songs and songs that are not very relevant. I am hardly adding any songs to my favourites from the DW playlist these days, this is in contrast from earlier when I would generally favourite a few songs atleast each week from the DW playlist.

Since 2006 I have saved £2280
new CD's cost on average £12 and buying them cheaper online I now have over 350 of my favourite CD's.
I then rip them and create my own music lists for free.
Load them on my phone, job done
From hendrix, zeppelin, nirvana to Ween to stevie Ray Vaughan to Uk garage, hard house classics and System of a down and everything in between.
They are all mine, I own them
Why would you pay any company to listen to music that you can buy and you own forever.
I can even leave them to my children. you cant do that with spotify

- I can search yt show and create playlists from it.
- this playlist is available on yt music to me.
- yt music searching and suggestion is crap too.
- best for finding good lives and new artists is YT now.
- as I have YT premium family, it turn to be a good one solution for my musics.
