Ask HN: What are all the new AI data centers for?

If gigantic models have already been created, is there any clarity on what Google, Amazon etc are building for? Is it training more generalist consumer models or perhaps providing private models to companies? I ask as there doesn't seem to be demand guaranteed or even technical proof in some cases that these will be useful.
