The building going into public domain is actually pretty sweet. Here in Portland we have this really cool looking statue in front of our city hall called the Portlandia statue (way before the show). You'd think it would be shown all over in pictures of our city, but the guy that made it owns the copyright and enforces the shit out of it. Because of that it's entirely unknown. No one wants to publish a picture and pay him.
