I can guarantee you, most of what the UK thinks it knows about the healthcare system is just parroting nonsense and stereotypes they’ve picked up online. OMG!!!111 “357 trillion gazillion pounds for a plaster for a cut finger!” Or, “It’s cheaper to rent a space shuttle from NASA to get to the hospital than call an ambulance!” All that exaggerated BS.

What’s even more staggering is that most people in the UK, many of whom haven’t been 100 miles out of their hometown, somehow have strong opinions on the US healthcare system.

Yes, the system can be predatory at times, no question. But let’s not jump to conclusions here. The murderer was clearly driven by some kind of ideology. We need to establish the facts first. That said, it’s highly likely insurance denied something—for him or for someone he cared about—and he hit a breaking point with nothing left to lose.
