Hindenburg accused Adani (Indian Oligarch) of being a fraudster. Adani has close ties to Modi (Indian Prime Minister). India is now a close ally with the USA, a bulwark against our main enemy (China).

Simply put, Anderson messed with the wrong people, and now the legal system will be used against him as punishment. This is an extremely common tactic used against short sellers.

The best thing about the internet is it lets peasants like me enjoy rich people games from my uncomfortable bed lol

If wikipedia is to be believed they're lucky they are American citizens anywhere else in the world they would be dead

> Following that, Adani Group stocks plummeted $45 billion. The losses resulted in Adani dropping from the 3rd richest person in the world to 22nd on Forbes' billionaires tracker.

Positing that India would have such pull with the SEC is quite a stretch of imagination
