It would be unconscionable to buy US weapons at this point - after literal threats of invasion, we're still considering buying weapons with a built-in killswitch from the potential aggressor?

EU politicians need to face reality, transatlanticism is dead. We need to be able to stand on our own.

Not saying that America is any better...but my impression is that the EU's talent pool is very shallow in the "good at facing reality" category. And that the voters have long preferred that state of affairs.

Of course, if suddenly elected, politicians from that puny pool might prove themselves painfully shallow in "competence" category.
