Thanks for your thoughtful engagement with my map! Grey pins are historical torii that do not exist anymore. I haven't really started mapping all of the some 1,600 colonial and settler shrines during Japan's modern imperial expansion, but have included a few. I'm sure there will be many more to add to South Korea in the future. The pin for Ulleung is not an exact location, like you said, I've only found vague information about it so far, but I've seen a photo of it.
