This is unfortunately a typical piece by ideological people completely detached from reality, combined with a public largely ignorant of history (which is an issue with the British education system in which history is barely taught as a compulsory subject).

For instance, people should immediately recognise this:

"the establishment of community land trusts – non-profit, democratic organisations that own and work land for the benefit of local people."

We're entering a period where strategic improvement in national food sufficiency is good. We're not talking juche principle, just a bit better than we do.

Britain will always need imports. It could do better at what it grows for domestic consumption and export.
