Southwest Airlines to start charging for bags

Shame. Between this and changing their boarding process, it seems to me that Southwest have lost pretty much everything that differentiated them from the competition. Back when I was consulting, and therefore traveling a lot, Southwest was by far and away my favorite and preferred airline. Now, I can't see much reason to prefer them to United, American, etc. :-(
