Weird how the term “jailbreak” has evolved/broadened. I went here thinking this was about OS or DRM cracking.

It’s about cracking LLMs.

If we are talking about terms and how they evolve, is "cracking" the correct word to use here?

Maybe "cracking" is appropriate as LLMs develop and gain more access to system tools, networking, etc?

It's certainly "bypassing safety mechanisms" of LLMs or at least it was! Currently it seems that jailbreaking refers to a kind of work around a restrictive layer on top of the system

LLM Jailbreaking is certainly the better way to call this as jailbreaking refers to something else.

For a few brief seconds as I read the post I had the delightful impression LLMs were somehow helping jailbreak iOS.
