A good alternative is Listary v4[0] and Fluent-search[1]

Edit: I'm a grateful user since at least 5 years. Can't imagine Windows without it.

The only feature I want from PowerToys is an application switcher like Spotlight / Alfred on macOS (not an application launcher).

This could replace the start menu for me if it could bind to the Windows key. I can't undo decades of muscle memory.

You can't directly map it to the win key, but you can use the keyboard manager to remap one (or both) of the win keys to a shortcut you then assign to command palette https://u.numerlor.me/zRq6PA

I don't understand why PowerToys is not part of the Windows OS and gets updated regularly.
