Why is typing educational?

How to sit, adjust a desk and chair for keyboard, touchscreen, stretching and mobility exercises, yes. But why typing?

Touch typing is an essential life skill that needs to taught to all students.

It's more important than driving a car.

Moreover, using AI prompts for novel games as content to be typed would also teach students about writing AI prompts and game design.

I never learned to touch type and had a successful career, now retired. Not driving would have been a big problem - in fact I got am IT job early on where they gave me 6 months to get a licence or I was out!

Oh, and yes I did start on punched cards, but was soon keying in my own code online 50 years ago.

I can touch type. But I don't get why it's a skill in itself. I get the physio part, but not te typing 8n itself.

Could you explain beyond using A for B would allow people to use A for B.
